Dancers

Evanstonians gathered Thursday night to dance to the music of Indigo on the plaza between the Metra station and the 909 Davis Street building.

It was part of a summer series of Thursday dance events sponsored by EvMark, the downtown marketing and management organization.

There's dance instruction from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., and the band plays for your dancing, or listening, pleasure from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

There are just two more sessions to go in the series this summer:

Aug. 14: The Shirley King Band, high energy blues, soul and R&B from the daughter of B.B. King. Cesar Salinas, dance instructor.
Aug. 21: One Foot in the Groove celebrates classic rock of the '80s. Cesar Salinas, dance instructor.
