What should Evanston’s recreation scene look like in five or ten years? What new programs could be added and where will people play and spend their leisure time?

To help determine long-range recreation goals and plans, Alderman Jane Grover, 7th Ward, and the Parks and Recreation Board are convening a Recreation Huddle from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. It will be held at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave.

Evanston residents are invited to or gather with representatives from a wide variety of local recreation, athletic and arts organizations to brainstorm about the future of Evanston’s recreation and leisure options. Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend and do not need to be associated with a particular sport or leisure activity.

“Recreation is about people in motion, playing and creating,” said Grover said. “Come share your best ideas about how to innovate recreation in Evanston and connect with the wide and deep recreation community.”
