Ten autonomous robots will attempt to outmaneuver each other to win at “Robot Checkers” Saturday as they and their student designers take part in the 24th annual Design Competition at Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.
A couple of times a year, the boards of Evanston/Skokie School District 65 and Evanston Township High School District 202 hold a joint meeting to discuss matters of interest to both districts. The next such meeting will be Monday night at ETHS.
The Finance Committee of the Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board approved Monday and sent to the full board some hikes in fees charged students and organizations, but modified the administration’s recommendations on child care hikes, pending further data from staff.
Parents who drop their kids off at an elementary or magnet school as early as 7 a.m. and/or pick them up as late as 6 p.m. are in for a fee hike next year if the Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board accepts a staff recommendation.
