Outdoor dancing downtown

Like to dance? Want to learn how to do some basic steps to the most popular rhythms? Come to "It's Thursday!" the only outdoor dance floor north of downtown Chicago.

The last session of this free weekly summer event will be held Aug. 21 at the 909 Davis Plaza at Maple Avenue and Church Street

The band One Foot in the Groove will celebrate classic rock of the '80s. And Cesar Salinas will provide dance instruction.

Dance instruction is from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. and the band plays for your dancing, or listening, pleasure from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Evmark, the organization that manages and markets downtown Evanston, presents this series to bring people to downtown Evanston to enjoy its entertainment and many unique restaurants and shops.
