'The Laramie Project'

Evanston Township High School will present the thought-provoking drama “The Laramie Project” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 11 to 13, in the Upstairs Theatre on the school's campus.

The play by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project investigates the reaction to the 1998 murder of a gay college student in Laramie, Wyo.

The murder is widely considered to be a hate crime motivated by homophobia. The play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by the theatre company with Laramie residents, company members’ journal entries, and published news reports.

Reserved-seat tickets at $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, are available through the Fine Arts Hotline, 847-424-7848.
