'Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill'

Tickets are now on sale for “Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill,” by Lanie Robertson, the third and final mainstage play in Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre’s 2017 Summertime Season.

Performances will take place Aug. 12 through 27 on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St.

The play recounts Billie Holiday's life story through the songs that made her famous. Through her poignant voice and moving songs, one of the greatest jazz singers of all time shares her loves and her losses. With this show, Audra McDonald won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre’s production will feature internationally renowned singer/actress Mardra Thomas and jazz pianist Reggie Thomas.
