LIVE COMEDY SHOWS TO BENEFIT POPE JOHN XXIII SCHOOL

The Lenten season is here, and, no matter what your faith, it is time to laugh your sins off.

LATE NITE CATECHISM, the longest-running one-person show in Chicago theater history, is coming to the McGaw YMCA Theater Auditorium for four performances in March. All proceeds benefit Pope John XXIII School.

This interactive comedy is like stepping back into an old Catechism class. Among the many reviews written during its 16-year run, the New York Times called the show "an uproarious piece of interactive theater...hilarious, well-written and inspired;” the Chicago Reader called it “gloriously funny;” and the Catholic Explorer called it “a habit-forming hoot!”

The show opens Saturday, March 7, with a 7 p.m. performance and continues with a matinee performance on Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. It then skips a weekend and comes back Friday, March 20 for another 7 p.m. performance and closes Saturday, March 21 with another 7 p.m. show.

Tickets are $25 and are available from Pope John XXIII School, 1120 Washington St., Evanston www.popejohn23.org. Group discounts are available. Tickets can be ordered via email at cathy.ogrady@popejohn23.org or by phone during school hours by calling 847 475-5678.
