Ethnic arts event brightens lakefront

The Ethnic Arts Festival continues from noon 'til 7 p.m. today on the Evanston Lakefront.

Markovic Orkestar
Serbian music gets audience members up and dancing.

After a rainy start Saturday, the event picked up steam as the sky cleared during the afternoon. By 5:30, the Boban I Marko Markovic Orkestar had a crowd of Serbian music fans dancing in front of the central stage in Dawes Park at Church Street and Sheridan Road.

Stuff

More than 125 artists are displaying works that take their inspiration from cultures all over the world.
