Catching the beat at Boocoo

West Aftrican music and dance teacher Abdoulaye Camara held drum and dance workshops this weekend at the Boocoo Cultural Arts Center in Evanston

Camara, who grew up in Guinea, tours the world teaching and performing and leads workshops for American and European tourists back in his homeland.

Boocoo, at 1823 Church St., offers a variety of dance and music classes and workshops through the year. For more information call Boocoo at 847-380-1602 or dance instructor Amy Osterman at 312-217-2418.
