A 76-year-old Evanston resident told police he was sitting in his cab waiting for a customer in the alley at 1735 McDaniel Ave. just before 6:30 yesterday morning when a young man approached him, showed a knife and demanded money.
When the cab driver tried to close his door and drive off, the assailant cut him on the thumb before fleeing the scene.
