Amnesty International celebrates human rights day

Join Amnesty International Evanston in celebtating Human Rights Day. This year's theme is "Education is a Human Right". 

Topics: Right to Higher Eduction for the Baha'i in Iran; Right to Decent Education for the children of Chicago

Speakers include Dr. Jena Kadem Khodadad, Emertus Professor at Rush University, who will be speaking on the plight of the Baha'i community in Iran including their inability to legally attend university - only because of their religion, along with Michael Brunson, Recording Secretary of the Chicago Teachers Union. He will be speaking on the union's Human Rights Committee's work with other organizations in submitting a petition to the United Nations on the right to a decent education for Chicago's children.
