Why register?

To participate fully on Evanston Now, you need to register.

Anonymous users -- people who aren't registered or are registered but have not logged in -- may post comments on existing content, vote on polls and send news tips to the editor, but they are not allowed to post stories or other content on their own and their comments are moderated before going live.

Registered users also get to create new forum topics, and their comments go live without pre-moderation. Users may register using their real name or a pseudonym.

Real-name users -- people the staff has confirmed are using their real names as their user names -- get to post several additional content types: blog entries, event listings, photos, stories and venue listings.

If you are a registered user but not a real-name user and wish to upgrade your membership, send us a note using the contact form. 

Check your login status. If you see "Login/Register" instead of "Log out" in the main menu bar at the top of this page, you either aren't a registered user or aren't logged in. Use the Login/Register link to fix that.
