Rex’s Place, a new dog day care business, opened at 2120 Ashland Ave. in Evanston last week.

The business is partnering with D.O.G., the Dog Obedience Group, for training services, providing everything from obedience and manners training to agility training, something that has not been readily available year-round in Evanston until now.

“We are extremely excited to have Wendy DeCarlo and D.O.G. as our training partners.  It is a dream come true,” says Kathy Lichtenstein, owner of Rex’s Place.  “D.O.G. is known in Evanston, having conducted all of the training at ETHS; however, in the summer, when the air isn’t on, training is not available.  This is a mutually beneficial relationship and one that is great for the dogs in this area.”

The first training program at Rex’s Place will begin March 26, when two classes will be held:  A puppy class will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a basic obedience and party manners session from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m,

About Rex’s Place offers over 11,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play areas, the facility provides day care and training for dogs as well as onsite seminars, and hosts community events.

  1. Beautiful new facility, inside and outside

Great big space, beautifully done, she has a contract with a top trainer who will have classes there. Large, fenced-in outside play area. Great staff. Doggies are safe, get stimulation and have fun.
