NorthShore University HealthSystems has purchased the medical office building at 2500 Ridge Ave. om Evanston for $5.7 million.
Chicago Health Care Daily reports the three-story COS Building was owned by about 20 physicians, including Dr. H. Jacob Saleh, who separately is selling his four-doctor obstetrics and gynecology practice to NorthShore.
The building is across the street from NorthShore’s Evanston Hospital and the hospital already is a tenant in the nearly fully-leased building.
While the hospital says it has no near term plans for changing the building’s operation, observers quoted by the the newspaper said it appeared the 1960s-vintage structure might eventually be a candidte for replacement by a more modern structure.

NIMBYs of Evanston, unite! We have another Cause to rally around!
We must save this historic 2500 Ridge Building from the greedy hospital executives!
Consider the facts:
but seriously, Bill…..are there any tax implications of this purchase?
There are nimbies, too plenty
There are nimbies, too plenty in Evanston. Hardly think this will be a cause to rally around. But guess I dont know the neighbors around there that will. NSHUHS will build what they please anyways. This was inevitable. Just amazing it took this long.
Not a concern
It is really sad to see Evanston Hospital buying buildings like no tomorrow. Employees used to get Christmas presents and they took that away. Over 60 percent of the hospital staff is making $13.00 or less.
It's a crying shame that they treat their employees poorly, but can spend this money on "unnecessary" things that are not needed at this time.
No
Don't know about pay, but none of the other stuff is true.
