Pritzker B&Bs to be featured on house walk

Stone Terrace

The two lakefront mansions totally rehabbed by Jennifer Pritzker’s Tawani Enterprises and converted to bed-and-breakfasts, will be featured in tomorrow’s house walk, sponsored by the Garden Club of Evanston.

Members of the club were busily working on the properties Friday to prepare floral decorations to complement the interiors of the two homes, Stone Porch by the Lake, and Stone Terrace, which are both located on Forest Place in the block south of Church Street.

Two other homes will also be a part of the walk, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., designed to raise money for the hundred-year-old club’s many projects in the community, including the upkeep of the Shakespeare Garden, located on the campus of Northwestern University.

Additional information and ticket purchases are available on the club’s website.

Ironic ?

Their B&B is good enough for a house walk and the Garden Club to sponsor but the Pritzkers [money ?, planning ?, sense of business ?, sense of making an attractive property ?] is not good enough for them to take over the Harley Clarke mansion which is an eyesore and in disrepair due to a very bad deal the city made with the arts group and is draining money from taxpayers the way it is. Maybe the Pritzkers should be called in to give the Council lessons on how to run a business and the city.

Go Visit Pritzker's B&B's and then cry

I've had the opportunity to stay for a night in Stone Terrace, and i've visited Stone Porch. Both B&B's are spectacular!! Anyone who was against her proposal to develop Harley Clarke should go visit either one or both of these B&B's. Details surrounding Harley Clarke such as sale versus long term lease and other issues could have been discussed and negotiated to reach a mutually beneficial agreement, instead of the vitriolic language and innuendo used to campaign against this effort. Again, take the time to visit Stone Porch and Stone Terrace and ask yourself, should we give Jennifer Pritzker another opportunity? Would she even consider it is another question.
