Chef to demo sweet corn soup

Chef Elio Romero of Chef’s Station will demonstrate how you can cook sweet corn soup at the Friends of the Evanston Farmers Markets tent at tomorrow’s downtown Evanston farmers market.

Chef Romero, who is owner and executive chef of the popular upscale restaurant in the lower level of the Davis Street Metra Station, began as a sous chef at the restaurant in 2001 and is now the boss.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Friends' blue tent in the southwest corner of the market, which is located behind the Hilton Garden Inn Evanston and adjacent to the Maple Avenue parking garage.
