The National Weather Service says Evanston could get “at least several inches” of snow from Friday night into Saturday morning.

Jim Maiworm, of the city’s Public Works Agency, says he’s expecting somewhat less than that — probably one to three inches — with even less accumulating on roadways than lawns, because pavement temperatures are around 50 degrees.

He says winds off the lake are likely to influence the snowfall amount here — likely shifting much of it to a slushy rain-and-snow mix.
