Bullet found in backpack

Evanston police arrested a man early this morning after finding a bullet in his backpack. That's one of the items in today's daily crime bulletin.

Firearms

Foster at Wesley

Fabian T. Guy, 22, of 1940 Wesley Ave., was arrested at 12:45 a.m. today at Foster Street and Wesley Avenue and charged with possession of ammunition without having a firearm owner's identification card.

Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says Guy was a rear-seat passenger in a car that failed to stop for a stop sign at Ashland Avenue and Foster Street.

When officers stopped the car at Foster and Wesley, Dugan says, they detected the odor of burned cannabis and saw some loose cannabis on the pants of the front seat passenger.

In the back seat, Dugan says, they found a backback that belonged to Guy, and inside the backpack they found one 380 caliber bullet.
