Video games taken in burglary on Dempster

Video games were among items taken in an apartment burglary in the 1000 block of Dempster Street. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

100 Kedzie

A bicycle was taken from the unlocked garage of a home in the 100 block of Kedzie Street between 4 p.m. Sunday and 9 p.m. Wednesday.

1000 Dempster

A Nintendo video game was taken in the burglary of an apartment in the 1000 block of Dempster Street between 11:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Graffiti

1600 Orrington

Two incidents of graffiti were discovered on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Orrington Avenue at 7 a.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

2400 Oakton

Gunshots were reported in the 2400 block of Oakton Street at 12:41 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1600 Monroe

A package containing clothing items that was delivered to an apartment common area in the 1600 block of Monroe Street was stolen between 12:57 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday.

1700 Sherman

Someone stole a cell phone from a retail establishment in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 11:35 a.m. and 12:03 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

2250 Lake

Carmen J. Garcia-Diaz, 46, of 6905 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2250 Lake St. at 4:28 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on June 20 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
