A 2003 Mercedes and a 2017 Ford that were unlocked in an apartment building garage in the 400 block of Howard Street were ransacked by burglars overnight Monday. Missing items included a laptop computer, stereo equipment, clothing items, a wallet, and cash.
Identification papers were stolen from a 2013 Hyundai parked unlocked in the 100 block of Main Street between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. yesterday.
Benjamin Jamal Lenoir, 22, of 3325 W. 84th St., Chicago, was arrested at 2301 Howard St. at 8:59 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Tavarious Anthony Wood, 26, of 1213 Cleveland St., was arrested at 1730 Lyons St. at 10:53 p.m. Monday and charged with failing to register as a convicted sex offender.
A package containing clothing that was delivered to an apartment common area in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue was stolen between 10:30 a.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. yesterday.
A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 900 block of Noyes Street was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
Church at Maple
A red Gary Fisher Ziggurat bicycle that was locked to a bike rack near Church Street and Maple Avenue was stolen between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. yesterday.
The ignition was damaged in an attempt to steal a 1996 Honda in the 1900 block of Foster Street between 4 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. yesterday.
Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
