Bikes stolen on Chicago, Florence, Central, Maple

Several bicycles were stolen over the weekend, on Chicago Avenue, Florence Avenue, Central Street, and Maple Avenue. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

744 Dobson

Frank N. Toussaint, 38, of 740 Dobson St., was arrested at 744 Dobson St. at 10:10 p.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery.

Burglary

1200 Florence

A bicycle was taken from the garage of a home in the 1200 block of Florence Avenue between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. yesterday.

2700 Central

A bicycle was taken from the garage of a home in the 2700 block of Central Street between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

2100 Warren

Someone broke a light in the yard of a home in the 2100 block of Warren Street between 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

1600 Chicago

A 2015 Toyota sustained scratches in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

Drugs

3656 Oakton

Ruben A. Quezada, 29, of 8619 Ferris Ave., Morton Grove, and Eric James Haberkorn, 21, of 5140 Grove St., Skokie, were arrested at 3656 Oakton St. at about 7 a.m. yesterday and charged with drug violations. A court date has been set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Graffiti

1000 Elmwood

Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 1000 block of Elmwood Avenue at 1:14 p.m. Friday.

Other

Dewey at Main

Police received a report of a man with a gun near Dewey Avenue and Main Street around 8:30 p.m. yesterday. They checked the area but found no man with a gun.

Shots Heard

Foster at Dodge

Gunshots were reported near Foster Street and Dodge Avenue at 11:58 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1600 Keeney

A 2017 Volkswagen was stolen from the 1600 block of Keeney Street between 6 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

600 Chicago

A cell phone left unattended at a grocery store in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen around 7:15 p.m. Friday.

800 Chicago

A bicycle was stolen from Chicago Transit Authority property in the 800 block of Chicago Avenue between 7:40 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

1600 Chicago

A wallet left unattended at a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen between 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

1500 Sherman

An iPad was removed from the counter at a restaurant in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue around 10:16 a.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman

A laptop computer was taken from a health club in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 2:14 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.

1200 Sherman

Cash was removed from a desk at a health club in the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue between noon and 6:20 p.m. yesterday.

1400 Chicago

A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen between 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.

1700 Sherman

A wallet was removed from a purse in a restaurant in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.

1700 Maple

A bicycle was taken from the sidewalk in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

2416 Dempster

Damian Gomez, 52, of 637 County, Waukegan, was arrested at 2416 Dempster St. at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Aug. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

300 Dodge

Jose Elias Rodriguez, 52, of 4314 N. Shakespeare Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 300 Dodge Ave. at 5:33 p.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Aug. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

2921 Simpson

Kendrick Roy Warburton, 46, of 1606 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 2921 Simpson St. at 12:52 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Aug. 10 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
