Shots heard on Monroe, Greenleaf, Mulford

Evanston police responded to reports of gunshots on Monroe, Greenleaf, and Mulford streets. These are among the stories in today’s weekend crime roundup.

Shots Heard

1700 Monroe

Gunshots were reported in the 1700 block of Monroe Street at 11:37 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Greenleaf at Wesley

Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Greenleaf Street and Wesley Avenue at 1:54 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Mulford at Callan

Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Mulford Street and Callan Avenue at 1:33 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Battery

1618 Benson

Julius E. Flowers, 19, of 1744 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1618 Benson Ave. at 5:41 p.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Oct. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

957 Dobson

Antoine N. Glaves, 18, of 957 Dobson St., was arrested at that address at 11:36 a.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

233 Custer

Michael A. Jones, 27, of 336 S. Homan Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 233 Custer Ave. at 5:59 a.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

300 Sherman

Burglars accessed an unlocked 2003 Ford in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue between 12:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday and took a laptop computer, phone charger, and backpack.

1100 Austin

Cash was taken from a 2005 Toyota in the 1100 block of Austin Street between midnight and 4 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

1300 Brummel

Someone broke an apartment window in the 1300 block of Brummel Street around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

1700 Dodge

Someone broke a window at a hair care shop in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue around 5:22 p.m. Saturday.

1800 Dodge

The window of a 2011 Buick was damaged in the driveway of a home in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue shortly after midnight Saturday.

800 Mulford

The window of a 2002 Mercedes was damaged in an apartment parking space in the 800 block of Mulford Street between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday.

117 Callan

Seth A. Young, 28, of 117 Callan Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:30 p.m. Friday and charged with criminal damage to property.

Theft

1000 Mulford

Vehicle parts were taken from a 2010 Subaru that was parked in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Mulford Street between 3 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. yesterday.

700 Hinman

A bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue between midnight Friday and 8:57 a.m. Saturday.

1000 Grove

A wallet was stolen at the McGaw YMCA in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

800 Hamlin

A bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 800 block of Hamlin Street between Sept. 2 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Traffic

8800 Crawford

Brian L. Jones, 37, of 7733 N. Hermitage Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 8800 Crawford Ave., Skokie, at 3:23 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 4 at 9 a.m.

2320 Greenleaf

Alexandro Villanueva, 33, of 3706 N. Monticello, Chicago, was arrested at 2320 Greenleaf St. at 10:31 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
