Apartment break-in on Greenleaf

Burglars forced open a window to gain entry to an apartment in the 1000 block of Greenleaf Street. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

1000 Greenleaf

Burglars forced a window to gain entry to an apartment in the 1000 block of Greenleaf Street between 8:30 a.m. and 6:39 p.m. yesterday, where they stole cash.

2700 Hampton

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2002 BMW in an apartment parking space in the 2700 block of Hampton Parkway between 6:30 p.m. Monday and 8:45 a.m. yesterday.

2100 Maple

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2008 Mazda in the 2100 block of Maple Avenue between 3 p.m. Friday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Criminal Damage

1700 Dempster

Someone damaged the fence around the yard of a home in the 1700 block of Dempster Street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday.

Graffiti

Chicago at South Boulevard

Graffiti was discovered on the street near Chicago Avenue and South Boulevard at 3:14 p.m. yesterday.

1900 McDaniel

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of McDaniel Avenue at 1:51 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

2100 Dewey

Gunshots were reported in the 2100 block of Dewey Avenue at 12:49 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1800 Ashland

A license plate was taken off a 2009 BMW in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue around 6:26 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

1910 Dobson

Isiah A. Irving, 26, of 2301 Foster St., was arrested at 1910 Dobson St. at 1:54 p.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
