A Northwestern University student group plans to host more than 1,000 children at a Project Pumpkin trick-or-treat session at NU's Norris University Center Thursday.
The free event is open to the public and NU faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their children. Project Pumpkin fliers have also been distributed at Evanston/Skokie School District 65 schools.
The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Norris Center, 1999 Campus Drive.
The Northwestern Community Development Corps, the student group organizing the event, has also invited children involved with after-school programs at local community centers to participate.
