Speakers to Illuminate Native American Role in War of 1812

The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian will mark the bicentennial of the War of 1812 with a presentation about the often-overlooked role of Native Americans in the conflict between the U.S. and Great Britain.
Frances L. Hagemann (Ojibwe-Métis), a past president of the Mitchell Museum board, and Barbara Johnson, a founding member of the museum's education task force, will present "Don't Know Much About the War of 1812" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, at the museum, 3001 Central St., Evanston.
