About me

I am CEO of the Tiz Media Foundation, a nonprofit organization that fuses technology with culture, music, art, and hands-on learning to make education as engaging as possible.

As chief engineer of an experimental multimedia studio at Bell Laboratories for ten years, I took a leading role in creating experiential prototypes of potential new services and products. I also worked for ten years in the music business as a recording engineer; my efforts with the Talking Heads were rewarded in 1985 with a Platinum album from the Recording Industry Association of America.

Because of my interest in children, I dedicated a considerable amount of my own time to training teachers in the Plainfield, New Jersey, school system on the use of the Internet, helping them to integrate web-based applications into the curriculum. I also spent two years as an instructor at the Plainfield Science Center, encouraging underprivileged neighborhood students to become interested in science.
