Evanston health officials reported 10 new COVID-19 cases today, the same as yesterday. The city’s COVID-19 death toll remained unchanged at 110.

Statewide there were 1,631 new cases today, compared to 2,092 yesterday, for a new total of 1,162,154.

The Illinois Department of Public Health today reported that 59,158 people were vaccinated yesterday, compared to 79,704 the day before.

A total of 1,783,344 vaccine doses had been administered as of yesterday, about 69% of the total 2,570,575 doses distributed to the state by the federal government. The IDPH says 3.25% of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated.

Illinois reported 35 COVID-19 deaths today, compared to 53 yesterday, for a new total of 19,961.

The state reported 64,929 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 85,010 yesterday.

The IDPH reported tests of 451 Evanston residents today, compared to 1,691 yesterday. The IDPH found nine positive cases here for a daily positive rate of 2.0%.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,904 cases. The city’s case count is 3,768.

Chicago reported 272 new COVID-19 cases today for a total of 240,689 and eight more death for a total of 4,777.

Suburban Cook County reported 301 new cases today for a total of 225,225 and seven more deaths for a total of 4,358.

The IDPH reported that the deaths in Cook County a woman and two men in their 50s, a woman and a man in their 70s, two women and four men in their 80s and one woman and two men in their 90s.

As of last night, 1,777 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 373 patients were in the ICU and 189 of those were on ventilators.
