The thief who stole the red 2011 Toyota Prius on Elinor Place overnight Sunday apparently had a key, police surmised. This among stories in Tuesday’s daily crime report from Evanston police.
THEFT
1400 Elinor
A red 2011 Toyota Prius was stolen in the 1400 block of Elinor Place between 10 p.m. Sunday and 7:34 a.m. Monday by a thief who had a key to the vehicle in his possession, police speculated.

1100 Chicago
A purse and its contents was stolen by someone in a pharmacy in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 1 p.m. Monday.

1500 Wesley
A phone was stolen from someone in transit in the 1500 block of Wesley Avenue between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday.

BURGLARY
1500 Wesley
Someone entered an unlocked 2014 Ford in the 1500 block of Wesley Avenue between 7 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.

GRAFFITI
Chicago at South Boulevard
Graffiti was discovered on a mailbox near Chicago Avenue and South Boulevard at 4:37 p.m. Monday.

TRAFFIC
1215 Greenwood
Mynor Meda-Garcia, 30, of 1631 W. Fargo Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1215 Greenwood St. at 10:40 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation.
Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place at Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
