Evanston reported 11 more COVID-10 cases today for a total of 653. And the city reported one new coronavrus death, raising the death toll to 30.

Chicago reported 970 more cases today for a towl of 42,372 along with 46 additional deaths for a total of 1,940.

Across Illinois there were 2,508 new cases, for a total of 110,304 and 66 more deaths bringing the total to 4,856.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported results of 25,674 tests for the coronavirus disease today with a 9.8% positive rate. That’s a bit higher than the 9.7% average of positive rates for the past seven days.

The IDPH reported results of 118 additional COVID-19 tests of Evanston residents today, with 18 positive results for a positive rate of 15.2% The IDPH case count numbers differ from those issued by the city. Eighty-three percent of the positive results reported by the IDPH today came from the south Evanston ZIP Code, although only 63% of the tests were conducted there.

All the metrics used by the state to determine whether the four regions of Illinois are on track to move to Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan on May 29 continue to show that they are.
