Evanston health officials reported 11 new COVID-19 cases today, up from nine yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged today at 94.
Statewide there were 3,767 new cases today, compared to 3,293 yesterday, for a new total of 937,909.
The state reported 104 deaths today, compared to 66 yesterday, for a new total of 15,969.
The state reported 46,226 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 57,448 yesterday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 539 Evanston residents today, compared to 602 yesterday. It found 13 positive cases for a daily positive rate of 2.4%.
The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,093 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 3,025 cases.
Chicago reported 761 new cases today for a total of 200,721. Its coronavirus death toll increased by 25 today to 4,081.
Suburban Cook County reported 690 more cases today for a total of 184,210 and 24 more deaths for a total of 3,631.
Those who died in Cook County today included one man in his 40s, a woman and a man in their 50s, eight women and six men in their 60s, four women and eight men in their 70s, 11 woman and five men in their 80s and one woman and three men in their 90s.
As of last night, 4,083 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 905 patients were in the ICU and 497 of those were on ventilators.
