Evanston health officials reported 13 new COVID-19 cases today, down from 36 reported yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged at 88.
Statewide there were 9,637 new cases today, compared to 9,887 yesterday, for a new total of 787.573.
The state reported 76 deaths today, compared to 205 yesterday, for a new total of 13.255.
The state reported 79,538 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 102,678 yesterday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 767 Evanston residents today, compared to 952 yesterday. It found 43 positive cases for a daily positive rate of 5.6%.
The state now says Evanston has had a total of 2,602 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 2,526 cases.
Chicago reported 1,649 new cases today for a total of 172,711. Its coronavirus death toll increased by 13 today to 3,602.
Suburban Cook County reported 1,541 more cases today for a total of 156,292 and 10 more deaths for a total of 3,082.
Those who died in Cook County today included three women and two men in their 50s, three women and two men in their 60s, one woman and three men in their 70s, four women and four men in their 80s and one woman it her 90s.
As of last night, 5,160 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,103 patients were in the ICU and 643 of those were on ventilators.
