Evanston health officials reported 13 new COVID-19 cases today, down from 25 yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged today at 94.

Statewide there were 7,037 new cases today, compared to 6,762 yesterday, for a new total of 925,107.

The state reported 96 deaths today, compared to 133 yesterday, for a new total of 15,643.

The state reported 94,909 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 82,328 yesterday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 386 Evanston residents today, compared to 466 yesterday. It found 22 positive cases for a daily positive rate of 5.7%.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,062 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 2,997 cases.

Chicago reported 1,112 new cases today for a total of 198,165. Its coronavirus death toll increased by 22 today to 4,015.

Suburban Cook County reported 1,275 more cases today for a total of 181,931 and 13 more deaths for a total of 3,554.

Those who died in Cook County today included a woman in her 40s, a woman and two men in their 50s, a woman and five men in their 60s, five women and six men in their 70s, one woman and two men in their 80s and seven woman and four men in their 90s.

As of last night, 4,488 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 944 patients were in the ICU and 518 of those were on ventilators.
