Evanston health officials reported 13 new COVID-19 cases today, down from 39 yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged today at 98.

Statewide there were 6,717 new cases today, compared to 9,277 yesterday, for a new total of 1,024,039.

The state reported 99 COVID-19 deaths today, compared to 123 yesterday, for a new total of 17,494.

The state reported 102,903 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 118,665 yesterday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 1,351 Evanston residents today, compared to 1,594 yesterday. The IDPH found 16 positive cases here for a daily positive rate of 1.2%.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,376 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 3,299 cases.

Chicago reported 1,095 new COVID-19 cases today for a total of 216,264 and 14 new deaths, for a total of 4,315.

Suburban Cook county reported 1,392 new cases today for a total of 199,727 and nine more deaths for a total of 3,904.

The IDPH reported that the deaths in Cook County included a one woman and three men in their 40s, a man in his 50s, three women and four men in their 60s, two women and three men in their 70s, three women and one man in their 80s and three women and one man in their 90s.

As of last night, 3,589 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 742 patients were in the ICU and 393 of those were on ventilators.
