An unlocked car door and an open garage door proved helpful to burglars yesterday. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

400 Grove

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2012 Mini in the 400 block of Grove Street between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. yesterday.

2400 Harrison

A bicycle was taken from the garage of a home in the 2400 block of Harrison Street, between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. yesterday, when the garage door was open.

Criminal Trespass

1711 Sherman

Terry L. Williams, 55, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1711 Sherman Ave. at 5:15 p.m. yesterday and charged with trespass on real property. He is due in court on May 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Other

1817 Washington

Ethan A. Gill, 19, of 1730 Washington St., was arrested at 1817 Washington St. at 3:35 p.m. yesterday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon because he was carrying a knife with a brass knuckle handle, according to police. He is due in court on May 1 at 9 a.m.

Theft

1454 Elmwood

Javier Rivera, 34, of 1928 Jackson Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:40 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.

Traffic

Main at Grey

Raul Miranda, 21, of 1213 Cleveland St., was arrested at Main Street and Grey Avenue at 6:37 p.m. Sunday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on May 1 at 9 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
