A Subaru and a Volkswagen were entered by burglars on Culver Avenue, near Crawford Avenue and Central Street in northwest Evanston. These were among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

3300 Culver

A 2015 Subaru and a 2017 Volkswagen were entered by burglars between 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. yesterday in the 3300 block of Culver Street, near the intersection of Crawford Avenue and Central Street.

100 Clyde

Some office equipment was taken by a burglar who forced entry to an apartment in the 100 block of Clyde Avenue between 8:10 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1100 Howard

A cell phone was taken while unsecured in a restaurant in the 1100 block of Howard Street between 10:44 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. yesterday.

1616 Sherman

Melissa Ann Mackey, 43, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1616 Sherman Ave. at 9:42 a.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. She is  due in court on March 29 ay 9 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
