A BMW and a Tesla were stolen by using keys left inside the vehicles. These among stories in Thursday’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

THEFT
2200 Harrison
A black 2016 BMW X5 was stolen from the 2200 block of Harrison Street between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8:40 a.m. Wednesday by using a key that was left inside the vehicle.

1100 Sheridan
A brown 2013 Tesla Model S was stolen from the 1100 block of Sheridan Road between 8 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday by using a key that was left inside the vehicle.

700 Michigan
A black 2018 Dodge Caravan was stolen from the 700 block of Michigan Avenue between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sept. 11. It was later recovered in Chicago.

1200 Ashland
A package was stolen from S. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, in the 1200 block of Ashland Avenue, between 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 14 and 5:17 p.m. Monday.

1900 Sherman
Checks and cash were stolen from a residence in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between midnight on Sept. 11 and 6:33 p.m. Sunday.

ASSAULT
806 Greenwood
Robert Evan Burton, 31, of 1305 Maple Ave., was arrested at 806 Greenwood St. at 8:35 p.m. on Sept. 12 and charged with assault.

1315 McDaniel
Corde Dantrell Triplett, 24, of 1315 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at that address at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday and charged with assault.

BATTERY
2403 Church
Trevia M. Slater, 33, of 2403 Church St., was arrested at that address at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday and charged with battery.

BURGLARY
South Boulevard at Michigan
Burglars forced entry to a 2006 Toyota near South Boulevard and Michigan Avenue between 6 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Tuesday and stole some tools.

1000 Michigan
Burglars gained entry to an unlocked 2018 BMW between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and stole a backpack and a computer.

1800 Darrow
A gray Giant mountain bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1800 block of Darrow Avenue between 6:08 p.m. Tuesday and 8:08 a.m. Wednesday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
400 South Boulevard
The front window of a residence in the 400 block of South Boulevard was broken between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday.

1700 Brown
Someone keyed a 2019 Kia in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

SHOTS HEARD
McCormick at Green Bay
Gunshots were reported at McCormick Boulevard and Green Bay Road at 9:28 p.m. on Sept. 15. Police checked the area but found nothing.

TRAFFIC
1454 Elmwood
Javier Castenada-Vargas, 52, of 4848 W. Hutchinson Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:30 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation.

1217 Ridge
Amarion Azuka Moseley, 21, of 5920 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1217 Ridge Ave. at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation.

500 Wesley
Yohana Carolina Ulacio, 41, of 509 Asbury Ave., was arrested at 500 Wesley Ave. at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation.

1800 Brown
Someone kicked in the door of a residence in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue between noon on Sept. 14 and 8:54 a.m. Tuesday.

Incidents listed are among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
