Two Evanston residents are among five candidates for two open positions on the Board of Trustees of Oakton Community College and will be on the ballot for the consolidated election on April 7.
Chairman of the Board William Stafford, the chief financial officer of Evanston Township High School, will be up for re-election. Stafford was appointed in 2007 to fill the unexpired term of a trustee who moved out of state. He was then elected to his present term in 2009.
The other candidate from Evanston is Christopher Evdoxiadis, who lives in the 1100 block of Grant Street.
The other three candidates are incumbent Theresa Bashiri-Remetio of Park Ridge, Dr. Constantine Ress of Lincolnwood, and Benjamin Salzberg of Northbrook.
The board, responsible for the operation of Oakton Community College, consists of seven public trustees elected to staggered six-year terms and one student trustee elected by the Oakton student body for a one-year term.
