Evanston police checked out two reports of gunshots heard in South Evanston yesterday. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Shots Heard

500 Sherman

Gunshots were reported in the 500 block of Sherman Avenue at 4:10 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Howard at Barton

Gunshots were reported near Howard Street and Barton Avenue at 10:40 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Battery

2400 Dempster

Layton J. Jones, 25, of 2426 Church St., was arrested at 2400 Dempster St. at 10:02 p.m. Thursday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on June 27 at 9:30 a.m.

1805 Madison

Dean E. Thompson, 42, of 1805 Madison St., was arrested at that address at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on June 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1600 Lake

Documents and jewelry were among items taken from a 2016 Volkswagen parked unlocked in the 1600 block of Lake Street between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. yesterday.

1600 Church

A laptop computer was taken from an unlocked 2016 Chevrolet in the 1600 block of Church Street between 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

1800 Hartrey

A burglar broke the window of a 2003 Buick and took a purse around 9:50 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

2500 Gross Point

Someone shattered the window of an apartment common area in the 2500 block of Gross Point Road around 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

1900 Hartrey

Someone smashed the window of a 1996 Acura in an alley in the 1900 block of Hartrey Avenue around 9:15 p.m. yesterday.

355 Ridge

Andrey Prigorskiy, 31, of 1557 W. Fargo Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 355 Ridge Ave. at 8:15 p.m. Thursday and charged with criminal damage to property. He is due in court on June 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Graffiti

2000 Darrow

Graffiti  was discovered on a residential garage in the 2000 block of Darrow Ave. at 10 a.m. yesterday.

Theft

1700 Monroe

Sunglasses were stolen from an apartment in the 1700 block of Monroe Street between 10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday.

Hartrey at Cleveland

Parts were stolen off a 2006 Honda near Hartrey Avenue and Cleveland Street between 7 p.m. Thursday and 10:16 a.m. Friday.

1400 Grey

Parts were stolen off a 2003 Nissan in the 1400 block of Grey Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

2300 Noyes

A purse was taken from an apartment in the 2300 block of Noyes Court between noon and 9:11 p.m. Friday.

930 Chicago

Dontrell J. Howard. 38, of  4344 S Ellis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 930 Chicago Ave. at 10:47 p.m. yesterday and charged with theft. He is due in court on July 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Traffic

1741 Maple

 Melissa L. Carter-Lardner, 36, of 643 Hinman Ave., was arrested at 1741 Maple Ave. at 10:27 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on July 9 at 10:30 a.m.

1800 Oakton

Christine M. Fortino, 32, of 2442 W. Rosemont Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1800 Oakton St. at 9:02 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on July 9 at 9 a.m.

Sheridan at Northwestern

Daniel Jara, 30, of 532 Deere Park Circle, Bartlett, was arrested at Sheridan Road and Northwestern Place at 7:08 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Aug. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

2400 Main

Akinloye J. Ogungbemi, 51, of 8623 Hamlin Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 2400 Main St. at 6:28 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on July 12 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
