Police checked out two reports of gunshots, just a couple of hours apart, in south Evanston after 9 p.m. last night. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Shots fired

1600 Cleveland

Gunshots were reported at 9:29 p.m. yesterday in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street. Police checked the area but found nothing.

600 Mulford

Gunshots were reported in the 600 block of Mulford Street at 11:39 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.


1300 Dewey

Cash was taken from a 2010 Hyundai in the 1300 block of Dewey Avenue between 10 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

The car manual, auto registration, insurance card, and cash were removed from a 2009 Chrysler in the 1300 block of Dewey Avenue between 1:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:56 a.m. yesterday.


700 Howard

Graffiti was discovered at a bus stop in the 700 block of Howard Street at 11:22 p.m. yesterday.


 727 111th

Mario L. Lofton, 25, of 8034 S. May St., Chicago, was arrested at 727 E. 111th St., Chicago, at 8:39 a.m. Friday and charged with illegal credit card possession with intent to use.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
