Police responded twice yesterday morning to calls of shots heard at Custer Avenue and Mulford Street. These are among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

SHOTS HEARD

Custer at Mulford

Police were summoned twice yesterday morning, at 9:06 a.m. and 10:58 a.m., by citizens who reported hearing gunshots near Custer Avenue and Mulford Street. Each time, they checked the area and found nothing.

BATTERY

524 Main

Cory Michael Gilmartin, 34, of 122 Home, Mishawaka, was arrested at 524 Main St. at 12:38 a.m. Thursday and charged with aggravated battery.

BURGLARY                                                                    

1700 Monroe

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2011 Honda in the 1700 block of Monroe Street between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. yesterday.

800 Judson

A wallet was removed  from an unlocked 2014 Lexus in the 800 block of Judson Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. Friday.

1800 Grey

Someone attempted to enter a home in the 1800 block of Grey Avenue between noon and 12:30 p.m. Thursday. In the process, they damaged the hinge and  locking mechanism of the door.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

2400 Howard

A vehicle’s windshield was shattered around 10 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Howard Street.

1200 Monroe

A window was broken at a home in the 1200 block of Monroe Street around 3 a.m. yesterday.

DRUGS

Emerson at Dodge

Gregory T. Jackson, 33, of 8924 Robin Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested at Emerson Street and Dodge Avenue at 5:31 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of cannabis.

Ridge at Seward

Lonzell R. Stone, 21, of 238 W. 111th St., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Seward Street at 10:37 p.m. Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

THEFT

2000 Howard                                                                                        

Clothing left unattended at a home in the 2000 block of Howard Street was stolen around 6 p.m. Friday.

1000 Cleveland

A package containing portable electronic communications equipment that had been delivered to a home in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street was stolen around 12:45 p.m. Friday.

600 Chicago

Consumable goods were taken from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of  Chicago Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

800 Brummel

A package containing iPhone cases that had been delivered to a home in the 800 block of Brummel Street was  stolen around 4:45 p.m. Friday.

1700 Dodge

Orman P. Hewitt, 18, of 1811 Hovland Court, was arrested at 1700 Dodge Ave. at 6:37 p.m.  Saturday and charged with retail theft, possession of stolen property, and criminal damage of property. He is due in court on Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

TRAFFIC

1919 Oakton

Jessica Johanna Lopez, 31, of 7820 S. Muskegon Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1919 Oakton St. at 7:11 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.  She is due in court on Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m.

Ridge at Seward

Andrielle Lashay Williams, 26, of 238 W. 111th St., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Seward Street at 10:02 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
