A cell phone and a bag with undisclosed contents were taken recently from unlocked vehicles in Evanston. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from the Police Department.

Burglary

2200 Payne

An open window provided access  to a 2019 Acura in the driveway of a home in the 2200 block of Payne Street between 12:45 a.m. and 9:08 a.m. yesterday. A bag with undisclosed contents was taken.

2700 Central

A cell phone was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2700 block of Central Street between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 7:16 p.m. yesterday

Assault

1400 Chicago

Adam C. Hernandez, 46, of 1400 Chicago Ave., was arrested at that address at 6:24 a.m. today and charged with assault.

Criminal Damage

1700 Chicago

A 2013 Acura sustained damage in the 1700 block of Chicago Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Graffiti

800 Sheridan

Graffiti was discovered at a playground in the 800 block of Sheridan Road at 1:35 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1600 Chicago

A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen around 11 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Wesley

A garbage can was stolen from an alley in the 1900 block of Wesley Avenue between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 2 p.m. yesterday.

100 Ridge

Food items were taken from a gas station in the 100 block of Ridge Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
