BackStage Evanston, feauring sneak previews from 17 local performing arts groups, will fill the stage at Northwestern’s  Ethel M. Barber Theater on Sunday afternoon Sept. 30.

The third annual event, presented by the Arts & Business Committee of the Evanston Arts Council, runs from 3 to 6 p.m. in the theater at 30 Arts Circle Drive in Evanston.

Participating organizations are Actors Gymnasium; CoCoDaCo; Evanston Dance Ensemble; Evanston Symphony Orchestra; Fleetwood-Jourdain, Next, Piccolo, and Piven theatres; Light Opera Works; Midwest New Musicals; Music Institute of Chicago; The Musical Offering; North Shore Choral Society; Northwestern University’s Theatre & Interpretation Center; Renovo String Orchestra; Savoyaires; and Theatre Zarko.

The orchestra will perform a world premiere titled Evanston Fanfare, written especially for the orchestra by the American composer Mark Gresham,

Tickets are available online. For each $20 admission, the attendee will be given a $20 voucher that can be exchanged for a special ticket offer of equal value from any participating BackStage organization.  These special discounts will only be available at the BackStage event.
