$20K in jewelry taken from apartment on Main

A burglar pried open the back door of an apartment in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue and made off with jewelry valued at $20,000. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

900 Michigan

Jewelry valued at $20,000 was among items taken from a third-floor apartment in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 4:47 p.m. yesterday.

1600 Wesley

An open door provided access to the garage of a home in the 1600 block of Wesley Avenue for a burglar who stole a bicycle between 9 a.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Saturday.

Graffiti

South Boulevard at Sheridan

Graffiti was discovered on the street in the vicinity of South Boulevard and Sheridan Road at 1:56 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1600 Chicago

Food items were taken from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at about 6:16 p.m. yesterday.

900 Harvard

A package of clothes delivered to an apartment common area in the 900 block of Harvard Terrace was stolen between 1 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Traffic

Dempster at Dodge

Kevin Mason Lamb, 28, of 6720 S. Cornell Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue at 3:24 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
