Evanston health officials reported 25 new COVID-19 cases today, up from 18 yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged today at 94.

Statewide there were 6,762 new cases today, compared to 6,239 yesterday, for a new total of 918,070.

The state reported 133 deaths today, compared to 115 yesterday, for a new total of 15,547.

The state reported 82,328 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 84,764 yesterday.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker today said more than 100,000 vaccine doses have been administered in llinois so far — more than in any other state in the nation.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 466 Evanston residents today, compared to 555 yesterday. It found 22 positive cases for a daily positive rate of 4.7%.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,040 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 2,984 cases.

Chicago reported 1,071 new cases today for a total of 197,053. Its coronavirus death toll increased by 27 today to 3,993.

Suburban Cook County reported 1,278 more cases today for a total of 180,656 and 22 more deaths for a total of 3,541.

Those who died in Cook County today included a woman and two men in their 40s, one man in his 50s, one woman and 10 men in their 60s, five women and eight men in their 70s, eight women and six men in their 80s, three woman and three men in their 90s and one woman over 100 years old.

As of last night, 4,593 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 953 patients were in the ICU and 536 of those were on ventilators.
