Evanston police are investigating the theft recently of three motor vehicles–on Madison and Greenwood streets and on Hinman Avenue. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

1500 Madison

A silver 2016 Nissan was stolen from the 1500 block of Madison Street around 1:09 a.m. today.

1700 Greenwood

A silver 2008 Jeep was stolen from the 1700 block of Greenwood St. between 7 a.m. Monday and 2:44 p.m. yesterday. 

700 Hinman

A 2018 Honda was stolen from a municipal parking lot in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue between noon Friday and 2:44 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Chicago

A shoplifter stole miscellaneous merchandise from the Jewel Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 2:33 p.m. yesterday.

Burglary

900 Sherman

A burglar attempted to open the door of a garage at a home in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday.     

Criminal Damage

1800 Maple

Someone damaged a parking gate at the city parking garage in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue around noon yesterday.

Traffic

2494 Oakton

Darious E. Wiley, 27, of 4150 W. Carrol Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2494 Oakton St. at 1:59 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
