The snow that started falling this afternoon in Evanston is expected to continue on and off thru early morning Sunday and add up to four to five inches before it’s done.

James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says crews anti-iced main streets and secondary roads before the storm began and now is working to plow the roads.

Occasional bands of moderate snow are expected until about 10 p.m. After that snow should taper off to flurries and pause about 3 a.m. Saturday.

For twelve hours or so after that we may get just flurries or even drizzle.

After 4 p.m. on Saturday another wave of moderate snow is expected lasting until 1 a.m. on Sunday. Air temperatures will crash into single digits with subzero wind chills on Sunday.
