A large enclosed tent on the east side of the Evanston Ecology Center will enable the winter market to accommodate some 44 vendors when it kicks off Saturday morning.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, located at 2024 McCormick Blvd. at Bridge Street.

Because of bridge construction, traffic crosses the bridge going westbound only, but access to the parking lot south of the Center will be available from McCormick.

A large contingent of artisan foodmakers will supplement about 17 farmers and growers with everything from root vegetables to winter squash, apples, mushrooms, fresh baked breads, cheeses, pasta, preserves, and kale grown in local greenhouses.

Knife sharpening will also be available.

The winter market will continue each Saturday until the regular outdoor market resumes in the spring.
