A case of arson caused by a rag in the gas tank of a 2003 Mitsubishi was reported around 5 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Case Plaza.

Donterrio Antwa Pleasant, 27, of 6253 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2020 Asbury Ave. at 1:46 p.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. A court date has been set for July 27 at 9:30 a.m.
1015 Howard
Gerold D. Russell, 29, of 7547 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1015 Howard St. at 6:23 p.m. Friday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Aug. 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Sedgwick L. Hughes, 30, of 1243 S. Lawndale Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1830 Dempster St. at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery. He is due in court on July 28 at 10:30 a.m.

A window was broken on a 2015 Mazda in an alley in the 700 block of Judson Avenue and cash was stolen between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Sean A. Lyle, 30, of 10111 Old Orchard Court, Skokie, was arrested at 1655 Foster Ave. at 11:24 a.m. yesterday and charged with criminal damage to property. He is due in court on Aug. 17 at 9 a.m.

A Smith & Wesson .45 caliber single action handgun with two magazines was stolen from an apartment in the 900 block of Judson Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Suspect is a 5-foot-10-inch-tall black male weighing 180 pounds.

Several packs of meat were stolen from the Jewel Food Store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Friday.

A cell phone in a pink case was stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road around 4 a.m. yesterday.
