5 bikes stolen on Judson

Also taken was a 2020 Hyundai Elantra and a 2004 Subaru Outback.

A total of five bicycles were reported stolen in separate incidents in the 600 and 800 blocks of Judson Avenue. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY

600 Judson

Two bicycles, a Bianchi and a Salsa Vaya, were stolen from the common area of a building in the 600 block of Judson Avenue between 2 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Monday.

800 Judson

A red Trek FX bicycle was stolen from the common area of a building in the 800 block of Judson Avenue between 12:06 p.m. Sunday and 5:45 p.m. Monday.

A gray Trek FX bicycle was stolen from the common area of a building in the 800 block of Judson Avenue between 12:06 p.m. Sunday and 5:45 p.m. Monday.

A black-and-purple Trek FX bicycle was stolen from the common area of a building in the 800 block of Judson Avenue around 1:50 a.m. Monday.

1600 Chicago

A purse was stolen from an unlocked Subaru in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

800 Davis

Various items were taken from a 2010 Volvo in the 800 block of Davis Street between 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:38 a.m. yesterday.

BATTERY

901 Maple

Gaston Lusk, 48, of 901 Maple Ave., was arrested at that address at 10 a.m. Wednesday and charged with battery.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

1454 Elmwood

Demarkus J. Green, 24, of 1124 Church St., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 11:46 a.m. yesterday and charged with criminal damage to property.

1600 Sherman

Someone damaged a computer in a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 11:43 a.m. Monday.

1900 Darrow

A windshield was broken on a 2007 Nissan in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday.

OTHER

959 Howard

Freddie J. Stanley, 33, of 2042 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 959 Howard St. at 7:29 p.m. Tuesday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

THEFT

800 Hinman

A 2020 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from a secured garage in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue between 5 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. yesterday.

2300 Central

A 2004 Subaru Outback was stolen from a parking lot in the 2300 block of Central Street between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. yesterday.

800 Greenleaf

A bicycle was stolen from Nichols Middle School in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street between 3 p.m. and 4:32 p.m. Wednesday.

2200 Dempster

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2014 Ford in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Dempster Street between Aug. 24 and 2 p.m. Tuesday.

2600 Ridge

Personal property was stolen from Evanston Hospital, in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue, around 9 a.m. yesterday.

2200 Crain

A license plate was removed from a 2016 Jeep in the 2200 block of Crain Street between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday.

1500 Hinman

Packages were taken from the common area in a building in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue between 11:54 a.m. and 6:03 p.m. Tuesday.

1300 Pitner

Packages were taken from the common area of a building in the 1300 block of Pitner Avenue around 10:07 p.m. Tuesday.

2200 Ridge

Packages were taken from the common area of a building in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between 2 p.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

600 Mulford

Packages were taken from the common area of a building in the 600 block of Mulford Street around 11:10 p.m. Sunday.

1616 Sherman

Cedric D. Young, 46, of 3947 W. Grenshaw Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1616 Sherman Ave. at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
