Evanston health officials reported 11 new COVID-19 cases today, down from 12 yesterday. The city’s death toll remained unchanged today at 104.

Statewide there were 4,318 new cases today, compared to 3,385 yesterday, for a new total of 1,076,532.

The Illinois Department of Public Health today reported that a total of 508,731 vaccine doses had been administered as of yesterday, less than half the 1,085,950 doses distributed to the state by the federal government. The IDPH says 0.85% of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated.

The state reported 33 COVID-19 deaths today, compared to 50 yesterday, for a new total of 18,291.

The state reported 71,533 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 63,002 yesterday.

The IDPH reported tests of 358 Evanston residents today, compared to 1,309 yesterday. The IDPH found 16 positive cases here for a daily positive rate of 4.5%.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,558 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 3,468 cases.

Chicago reported 775 new COVID-19 cases today for a total of 226,184 and 11 new deaths, for a total of 4,459.

Suburban Cook County reported 772 new cases today for a total of 209,704 and eight more deaths for a total of 4,085.

The IDPH reported that the deaths in Cook County included a man in his 60s, three women and five men in their 70s, three women and three men in their 80s and two women and two men in their 90s.

As of last night, 3,335 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 713 patients were in the ICU and 395 of those were on ventilators.
